Aquara collaborates with the La Muela City Council to provide service to the population during the course of the breakdown in the Yesa branch

The company that manages the municipal water service installed 10 alternative supply points through which 32,000 liters of water were supplied. In addition, water was transported to local farms, supplying some 5,400 animals

Aquara, a company that manages the municipal water service in La Muela, was working yesterday hand in hand with the town council to alleviate the effects of a breakdown that occurred in the Yesa branch that supplies water to various municipalities in the area de Zaragoza and that left the entire population of La Muela without water for more than 24 hours.

As reported by the City Council, La Muela, as it did not have an alternative catchment, was the only municipality in the area that ran out of water supply due to the breakdown, which was totally unrelated to the municipal water service, being Aqualia, the company contracted by ACUAES for the management of the Yesa water supply network, responsible for the repair.

However, Aquara, aware of the commitment to the well-being of the residents of La Muela, made herself available to the City Council to adopt all the necessary measures to supply the population until the damage was repaired. In this way, the municipal water service installed 10 alternative supply points in the town center and in the Urcamusa area. Specifically, 3 points were established in Aragón-Plaza Moncayo avenue (Urcamusa), another 3 in the Corazón de Jesús square (next to the Civil Guard barracks), 2 in Calle Mayor next to the nursing home and another 2 in the ride queen sofia. In addition, Aquara also supplied tankers to farms located in La Muela, supplying 5,400 animals.

In total, 32,000 liters of water were supplied during the day yesterday thanks to the device put in place by the City Council of La Muela and Aquara, which ensured at all times that the covid-19 prevention measures recommended by the health authorities, signaling the safety distance at each of the alternative supply points and installing hydro-alcoholic gel dispensers.

Hours before the establishment of these points, Aquara personnel had traveled to the nursing home to provide drinking water to residents, in order to prioritize care for vulnerable groups such as the elderly.

The water supply is currently restored. From the municipal water service they regret the inconvenience caused to the neighbors and thank them for their total collaboration in complying with the security protocol against the coronavirus activated yesterday at the water distribution points established in the town.
